Evenin' Alex and welcome to the GSi forum. I'm glad you found the place and it's good to know there are others out there that appreciate just what a stormer the GSi actually is. Cheers for your positive comments and looking forward to seeing more of your nutty drifter!

I have a redtop sitting in my shed, wanted to know if a megajolt ignition system will fit,
as I do not have the ecu and wiring and will be intending on fitting carbs to a classic ford for rwd.
Did u use the original wiring and ignition system and just turn the engine around?
Which clutch, flywheel did u use and starter motor?
Cheers,
George.

yep i swung the engine around and used the carlton gbox flywheel clutch and starter all bolted straight up . my friend had a mk2 escort we put a red top in and at first was on carbs and ignition but we changed it back to the std vx system as it had much better throttle response and only lost 10bhp but gained 10-12 mpg and was just so much nicer to drive with no carb splutters . just some food for thought Smile

I'll have to usa a mrgajolt ignition system as I don't hve the ecu or wiring for the engine.
But thanks for the tip.
I vill be looking for a scrap carlton soon.
Knowing my luck, it'll turn out to be an auto! Lol
